Collin County Moms Financial Health Series :: Meet Megan, Who Is Debt Free!

In our financial health series, we want to put a spotlight on both readers and writers for Collin County Moms. Our first financial health spotlight is on Megan, a Collin County mom, who has reached debt freedom with her husband this year! Read on to learn about her financial wellness journey.

Kara Robinson
Kara was born in Florida, lived in Washington State and California as a Navy brat, and then settled in Jacksonville, Florida. That was until work moved her to Texas. Her (then) boyfriend followed her out, and there they got engaged, married, and welcomed their son, Mark, in 2016. Then Kara was a surrogate and welcomed her first surro-baby in September 2019 and second in April 2021. Her favorite hobbies including finding adventures (aka free things to do) on weekends with her family around town, spending time at her parents in Oklahoma, fitness and working towards paying off their debt.   2. Congratulations Megan on becoming debt free! The freedom you have now is amazing! I only have my car left to pay off and should be completely debt free this year after it’s paid! We hope to be able to purchase a home next year!

  5. I can totally relate to wanting to be debt free! Our motivation was to have more free time while our children were still at home. We were always stressed about debt instead of enjoying our lives. Keep up the hard work!
