Bring Your Whole Family to North Texas Escape Rooms

Collin County Moms partnered with North Texas Escape Rooms for a fun experience! All opinions are 100% our own!

When you’re in the “thick” of new babies and family life, it often feels like you miss out on all the fun. It’s been over a year since I’ve been able to sneak away to see a movie over a PG rating. I haven’t watched an award show in almost 2. And don’t even ask me who Lizzo is. . . because I genuinely have no clue. (Although I have heard that her truth hurts!)

It’s also been during this isolating stage of parenthood that I found myself missing out on popular trends like charcoal ice cream. But finally. . . FINALLY . . .I managed to sneak out with fellow Collin County Moms contributors to cross off one of my missed-out-on “bucket list” items at North Texas Escape Rooms in Plano.

North Texas Escape Rooms is a family-owned, operated business right in the heart of Collin County. Owner Kelcie Fox, a soon-to-be-mom, built NTER with 5 core values: servant leadership, connection, integrity, joy, and obsession with improvement. The NTER team is passionate about being the best servant leaders in the industry and providing a 5-star experience every time, for every guest.

At North Texas Escape Rooms (in Plano & McKinney), there are no intense rooms or situations that result in a fear-based need to escape. Each room is designed with families and team building in mind. The staff want to see you succeed and be the hero for your group.

The next time you’re looking for a truly unique date night OR wanting a fun way to connect with your friends, co-workers, or family, you’ll want to book an experience with North Texas Escape Rooms.

It’s easy! Simply, visit NTER online. Choose a time and themed room of your choice in McKinney or PlanoBringing children? No problem! NTER has modified 45-minute rooms they can recommend for ages 10+.

Arrive at your designated time and let their staff help you with the rest!

Each room has its own story and puzzles to solve based on the theme. In one room you might help superheroes find the missing key to Empire City and in another, you’re working together to escape your jail cells. Families might find themselves sneaking around a summer camp or trying to escape the Principal’s office. The possibilities seem endless!

Depending on the room you’ve selected, your team will have 45-60 minutes to “escape” the room. (No, the doors will NOT actually lock, but if you step outside, the clock keeps ticking!) Each room is assigned a staff member to be your assistant the entire time. Need a clue? They’ve been watching and can help! Each room has a prominently placed screen that countdowns your remaining time and provides a place for the staff member to text you if you’re getting close or if you’ve missed something big.

One of my favorite parts of the experience was how much attention to detail is put into every room. From floor to ceiling, each item felt carefully calculated and placed. It was hard to not get swept away in the role-playing as you solved the puzzles and it didn’t take long to forget that you’re actually trying to “escape” the room, not solve a robbery.

The overall experience was such a great one and I hate that I can’t tell you . . .but if I did it would ruin all the fun for you! So, take my word for it when I say, forget what you think you know about escape rooms and give North Texas Escape Rooms a try!

To help encourage you, NTER is giving our readers 10% OFF your reservation*! Simply use the code MOM10 when you book online or by calling the McKinney (469-712-6837) or Plano (469-712-6837) location.

As I mentioned, NTER wants to be THE family-friendly escape room destination for Collin County. They are the only escape room in DFW that provides 3 separate Birthday Party packages for ages 10+ that includes a 45-minute escape experience for up to 16 children, a private party room with party essentials, and a party host to help you manage it all!

Corporate Team Building, Church Outings, Non-Profits, and School Events are all possibilities at North Texas Escape Rooms. They’ll provide the meeting space, faciliate group activities, food, and more. Call for more information!
