Critter Club:: FREE Animal Meet-&-Greets This Fall at Fairview Town Center

This post has been sponsored by Fairview Town Center, but all opinions are 100% my own.

The Critter Club is back and better than ever! The Critter Club is a free event that gives kids the chance to get up close and personal with different kinds of animals. This free event at The Park at Fairview Town Center runs every Saturday in September through the end of October. Kids get to learn about a different animal each week and then get to meet and take pictures with the animal. Kids can even get their faces painted with the animal of the week!

My kids and I got to learn about honey bees at one of the recent Critter Club events. A beekeeper from Rescue Bee Ranch told us all about bees, how important they are in our world, and what to do if you see a swarm of bees (hint: leave them alone and call a professional beekeeper!).

The presentation from Rescue Bee Ranch at Critter Club was informative and fun.

Kids get a chance to ask questions at the end of the brief presentation. My son wanted to know how many bees that they have rescued at Rescue Bee Ranch. The answer was at least several hundred thousand!

Kids get the chance to ask questions about the animals.

After the Q&A, the children can either get their face painted, go up on stage one-by-one to meet the animal(s), or color on some fun worksheets.

We got to try on the beekeeping hats to see what it’s like.

Seeing the bees up close was exciting and we also got to try on beekeeping hats to get a preview of what it’s like to be a beekeeper.

The face painting was fairly quick and easy and it was my youngest son’s favorite part of the event. My kids had an amazing time and didn’t stop talking about what they learned about bees the rest of the day!

We loved the bee face painting!

The Park at Fairview Town Center can be found in the green space and stage in front of Cafe Gecko. You’ll want to bring a chair or a blanket to sit on during the event. Guests are asked not to bring food because it can distract the animals.

The Park at Fairview is a nice green space with plenty of parking and restaurants nearby.

Social distancing is encouraged and guests are asked to wear masks when lining up to meet the animal or get their face painted. Guest also have a chance to win prizes at the event (including Allen Americans tickets!).

Check out the schedule of upcoming Critter Club events and don’t miss this amazing opportunity to have your children meet some truly unique animals. Head to The Park at Fairview Town Center one of these Saturdays to add some fun to your weekend that your kids won’t forget!
