Breakfast tacosWhat’s NOT to love about a breakfast taco? They’e packed with protein and can be customized to have meat, vegetables, cheese . . . okay, I’m hungry.

I’m clearly obsessed with breakfast tacos for myself and my kiddos. So I’d thought I’d share the tastiest and best breakfast tacos in Allen.

Del Sur Tacos :: Del Sur Tacos is a Mexican restaurant located near Bishop Arts on Jefferson Blvd in Oak Cliff. Its menu contains breakfast tacos (duh), enchiladas, tortas, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, salads, and more!

El Grande Burrito :: In addition to tasty breakfast burritos, El Grande Burrito serves traditional Mexican breakfasts, like huevos con chorizo and huevos rancheros. You can also order a la carte!

El Volcan :: This place keeps it simple because it’s that good. Choose your meat and whether you want flour or corn tortillas. Breakfast burritos are also available.

Fershy Taco :: Don’t let the fact that this restaurant is located at the back of a gas station — that just means it’s the real-deal. This place is delish — it has only five-star ratings on Yelp!

Lily’s Cafe :: Enjoy homemade tortillas with authentic Mexican breakfast tacos, including several other menu options. I recommend the huevos con salchichones: eggs with grilled pork sausage with black beans, cheese, Guatemalan cream, and fried plantain with homemade tortillas. Drooling?

Lupe Tortilla :: These breakfast tacos are served with refritos and papas (refried beans and papas). Specialties include barbacoa and carne molida for meat eaters and avocado breakfast tacos for vegetarians.

Mexican Cactus :: This place serves breakfast tacos ALL DAY. Hooray! Try the spinach and egg taco for a healthy spin.

Torchy’s Tacos :: If you’ve been living under a rock, maybe you haven’t heard of Tochy’s. Otherwise, you likely know that this place is killer. Choose from seven different breakfast tacos, including migas, and other traditional tacos that have chorizo, sausage, bacon, and more.

Taco Factory :: Tired of bland tacos? Enjoy a flavorful breakfast taco at Taco Factory. Try its playtillo de desayuano for a mouthful of scrambled eggs, your choice of protein, potato, and — wait for it — refried beans. I’ll take two.

Three breakfast tacos on a plate.

Rosa’s Cafe:: Sure, this place is a chain. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s delicious and FAST! Most have a drive-thru, making it a great option for meals on the go.

Breakfast tacos are pretty simple to whip up at home in your own kitchen. But there is something extra yummy about picking up an authentic breakfast taco on homemade tortillas with all the fixin’s. Tip: Buy a bunch and freeze them at home for an easy, to-go breakfast when you’re running out the door! Muy delicioso!
