Filled with lacy snowflakes and delectable sweets, The Nutcracker heralds the magic of the season with visions of enchantment and joy. Follow along with the beloved holiday story as Clara travels to the Kingdom of Sweets with her Nutcracker Prince.

Attend a performance in Dallas, November 24 – December 3, or in Fort Worth, December 8 – 24. The Nutcracker is approximately two hours long, with one intermission. Buy tickets today!

Autumn at the Arboretum :: This year’s theme is “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.” Come out and enjoy the acclaimed Pumpkin Village, maze, and 150,000 beautiful fall plants! Through November 5.


Baby Lap-Sit Story Time :: Frisco Public Library, 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. Stories, songs, and lots of fun for non-walking infants and their caregivers. Tickets available one hour prior to the program.


CAMP Dallas :: The Hill, Camp Dallas :: Join Mickey and friends on an interactive, immersive, fantastical CAMP adventure. Cost: Tickets start at $24 per person.


The Clay Classroom :: Jump Into Art Studio, McKinney. A seven-week, all-inclusive ceramics program (meets weekly, November – December). For ages ten years – adults. See website for details.


Dinosaurs Live! :: The Heard, Dallas :: Dinosaur geology, dino trail hike, fossil dig, and more. From 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Closed Mondays. General admission is $9 – $12 Kids two and under are free.


Family Story Time :: At the Frisco Public Library, every Friday, 11:00 – 11:30 a.m. Space is limited. Tickets are available at the youth services desk starting an hour before the program. Intended for walkers – five years old.


Farmer’s Market :: Four Seasons Farmer’s Market, at The Shops at Willow Bend. Open every Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.


Free First Saturdays :: Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas :: Free event, held every first Saturday of the month. From 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Family program from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Please register in advance.


Holiday at the Arboretum :: Dallas Arboretum. Holiday at the Arboretum begins runs November 9 – January 5 this year. It includes the 12 Days of Christmas outdoor exhibit, a Christmas village of charming shops and façades in the style of European Christmas markets, choirs, tons of lights in the garden, and more. Snow Day :: The Galleria. The magical, multi-sensory event is back at the Galleria, and once again, it’s joining forces with Santaland. You can visit either experience separately or purchase a combo package for a 15 percent discount. Tickets from $19.99, ages three and under are free. Event runs November 17 – January 7.

Dia de los Muertos :: Grandscape (Topo Chico Hard Seltzer Stage and Lawn), The Colony. From 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Live entertainment, food vendors, photo ops, and more! Free event and parking.

The Addams Family: School Edition :: Performing at Fairview Town Center. Performance begins at 7:15 p.m., nightly (Friday and Saturday); 1:15 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets $12 – $14 per person.


Shakespear’s Twelfth Night :: Performed by Genesis Children’s Theatre, Plano. November 2 – 5. Performances begin at 7:00 p.m., nightly; 2:00 and 3:00 for weekend matinees. (See website for details.)

Festival at the Switchyard :: Carrollton’s annual festival returns to the Historic Downtown area with something for music lovers, fried food fans, shopaholics, and kids of every age to enjoy. Lots more info at the link. 11:00 – 10:00 p.m. Free!


Global Village Market :: Greenland Hills United Methodist Church, Dallas. The annual Greenland Hills Global Village Market brings together charitable organizations and fair-trade retailers to offer a unique holiday shopping experience. Veterans Day Celebration :: Farmers Branch Historical Park will once again host a big Veterans Day celebration with live performances, a patriotic ceremony, and more. From 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Free!
