Keep your body moving this winter at a local race or fun run. We’ve made a list of all the big ones in and around Collin County.

November 23

North Texas Turkey Trot
Frisco Square

The trot consists of a 10K, 5K, and a Miracle Mile for the kids. Race proceeds benefit The Miracle League of Frisco, which provides local children with mental and/or physical challenges (ages five – 22) the opportunity to play sports as members of an organized league.

Plano Turkey Trot
Plano

This Plano tradition continues in 2023 at Oak Point Park with a 5K and Kids Dash. Race proceeds benefit The Source of Hope, a non-profit dedicated to the health and wellness of underserved folks around DFW. Hypnotic Donuts will be there to treat you at the finish line. Note: No dogs. Strollers are allowed for walkers and joggers only.

December 2

Frosty 5k and Merry Mile
Frisco

The Merry Mile begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K starts at 9:00 a.m. in Simpson Plaza. This race benefits Play Fund. Walkers welcome.

Holly Jolly 5K & Fun Run
Allen

Formerly the Rudolph Run, this race offers three different options: the timed 5K, the untimed 5K, or the Holly Jolly Fun Run. It starts at 4:00 p.m.!

December 9

Jingle Run 5K
The Colony

Head to Grandscape for this run, complete with a holiday afterparty including free interactive gel blaster experience, a live DJ, vendors, and an appearance from Santa Claus. Don’t forget your Toys for Tots donation! Tickets from $35.

December 16

Frozen River Run
Flower Mound

Set in the temperatures of the CAC’s outdoor river and pool, this first-time event is a cool one. A parent or guardian must accompany those 17 and under. Registration is not required.

December 31 – January 1

New Years Double
Allen

This event includes a 5K, a half-marathon, and a marathon. It spans two consecutive days at Celebration Park. There’s a special perk for those who complete multiple running events over the course of both days. See link to register.
