Seeking a Staycation? A Round-Up of Dallas-Fort Worth Area Hotels with Indoor Pools

An indoor pool.

Our family is a huge fan of  staycations. They are less stressful, less expensive, and you don’t have to spend a lot of time traveling. When it comes to hotels, our kids have one requirement — a pool! In the colder months, we specifically search out hotels with indoor pools. Even if it’s just your basic swimming pool, we have the best time and end up in the pool multiple times during our stay.

Crowne Plaza Dallas — Market Center

Growing up, my family used to staycation here and always had a blast. The whole hotel has recently been updated, including the huge indoor pool. It’s conveniently located near downtown Dallas and is close to the Dallas Aquarium and the Dallas Arboretum

Embassy Suites Dallas (near Galleria)

Located near the Dallas Galleria, this hotel is a longtime family favorite. I even had one of my birthday parties here as a child. Stays include free breakfast and a reception with light snacks and drinks in the evening. The indoor pool is fairly large and has a serene vibe.

Fairfield Inn & Suites Dallas Plano/Frisco — Plano

Another Collin County favorite, the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Plano is a great hotel for the price. Free breakfast is included. Who can say no to Texas-shaped waffles?

Great Wolf Lodge — Grapevine

I’m starting with the obvious here — in a kid’s eyes, there’s nothing better than Great Wolf Lodge. We gifted our kids a stay for Christmas, and they haven’t stopped talking about it since. If you go during the week, it is a lot less expensive. Check Groupon for great deals or call the hotel for its latest promotion. Six waterpark tickets are included with each room, and you can use the water park from 1:00 p.m. the day you check in.

Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Fort Worth

We’ve stayed here before and really enjoyed the kids splash pad area with purple walls. This hotel is also conveniently located right in the heart of downtown Fort Worth, within walking distance of the Water Gardens and many restaurants. Don’t forget to check out the Stockyards while you’re there!

Hampton Inn & Suites McKinney

If you’re looking for a hotel in McKinney with an indoor pool, check out the Hampton Inn & Suites. Not far from downtown, this hotel is budget friendly and offers complimentary breakfast.

Hilton Anatole — Dallas

I’ll admit, I prefer to stay here during the summer to enjoy the outdoor lazy river, but it does have an indoor pool for the colder months. There are also plenty of options to grab a bite to eat and an outdoor park. It’s right down the road from the Dallas Zoo, downtown Dallas, and the Arts District

Homewood Suites Downtown Dallas

Another hotel near downtown Dallas is the Homewood Suites. This indoor pool is a favorite for kids because the walls are painted with brightly colored murals and it has a waterfall. It’s also conveniently located on Elm Street, right by the Perot Museum

Sandman Signature Hotel Plano — Frisco

With this hotel, you can stay right here in Collin County! This hotel is reasonably priced and within walking distance of several restaurants and the Frisco Central Park District.

SpringHill Suites Dallas Plano/Frisco — Plano

This is another great option in North Dallas, located near Children’s Medical Center in Plano. I specifically like this indoor pool because it has large windows with a great view of the outdoors.

Staybridge Suites Plano — Richardson

If you’ve never stayed at a Staybridge Suites, you’re missing out! I don’t think there is better bang for your buck, especially if you are planning to stay more than a few days. Each room has a refrigerator and microwave, so you can reheat food or bring food from home. In addition to a large indoor pool, this hotel also offers an outdoor basketball court and picnic tables.

Whether you’re looking for a resort-style getaway, or just a night away from home, this list of local hotels with indoor pools should have you covered! I hope you and your family make lots of memories on your staycation!
