3 Reasons You Should Attend TCA’s Campus Preview

If you’ve driven down the Dallas North Tollway, you might have noticed a quaint “little” school located near Trinity Mills Road in Addison. If you’ve ever been curious about this growing campus, this spring is the time to discover North Dallas’s beloved Trinity Christian Academy.

As one of the largest single-campus PreK-12 schools in the country, Trinity Christian Academy now serves over 1,400 students on their 40+ acre campus!

In addition to providing college preparatory curriculum education, TCA prides itself in being a Christ-centered campus. TCA families attend numerous christian churches in the metroplex.

If those statistics aren’t enough to grab your attention, we also have three reasons why you’ll want to explore Trinity Christian Academy this Spring during their Campus Preview events!

3 Reasons You Should Attend TCA’s Campus Preview

1. TCA Goes Beyond College Preparatory Curriculum :: Academics should be a big focus when touring a school and deciding where you’ll send your children to learn. From an early age, it’s important that curriculum be developmentally appropriate AND challenging all at the same time.

You’ll find that at TCA, the use of learning centers, hands-on manipulatives, role-playing, reading labs, and the latest technology help to cultivate the ideal learning environment from the very beginning. Throughout the Lower School, classrooms maintain an 11:1 student/teacher ratio in order to teach the carefully selected curriculum, best serve each individual student, and bring out each child’s sense of confidence.

By the time your child reaches the Upper School, he or she will have developed both academically and spiritually, but TCA understands that life happens once a student leaves the classroom. That’s why in addition to the strong, demanding college preparatory curriculum, the staff and faculty are dedicated to preparing every child with the building blocks to achieve a productive and successful future; to think critically and discern truth in the world.

This focus on developmentally appropriate learning environments continues all the way through 12th grade. The college preparatory curriculum provides opportunities to graduates that get them accepted at a wide variety of colleges and universities, including the nation’s most prestigious institutions.

Beginning freshman year, students will work side-by-side with TCA’s Guidance Office to have an ongoing discussion of personal and academic goals and help to create a plan of action for course selection, career exploration, enrichment opportunities, and college selection.

2. Excellence in Athletics & Fine Arts Programs :: As part of TCA’s mission to develop the “whole person”, the has developed amazing athletics and fine arts programs.

TCA offers 21 varsity-level sports that compete in the TAPPS 6A division for both boys and girls. Winter sports include basketball, soccer, wrestling, and swimming. Fall sports include football, golf, cross country, cheer, dance and volleyball. Spring sports include: baseball, softball, tennis, golf, and track.

TCA’s award-winning Visual Arts Department is one of the most decorated in the area with their drama, choir, and band students consistently being recognized in area and state competitions for their outstanding performances and productions.

TCA has placed special emphasis on the arts program, and to support the program, built a Performing Arts Center which offers a 6,500-square-foot auditorium, black box theater, band room, choir room, soundproof rehearsal rooms and classroom space, and the art wing of classrooms, workshops and computer lab specifically for art students.

3. Christ-Centered Programs :: The Truth that parents are teaching at home is reinforced in all of TCA’s classes, at lunch, and on the playground. During the formative years, children will hear consistent messages, which will equip them even better to know and believe truth when they are older. TCA’s programs are designed to foster personal spiritual growth, compassionate human outreach, and strong leadership development with the expectation that young people will be able to go out and face a changing world.

Krystal Hurst
Krystal is a Dallas-native who began her career as a fourth grade teacher in Richardson RISD, but quickly changed paths to became a stay-at-home mom in 2011. Through a happy coincidence, she stumbled upon (what was then known as) Dallas Moms Blog in 2012 and found a community she’d been looking for since coming a mom. Shortly after joining the team, she gratefully accepted the “baton” passed to her as new owner of the site, and took off with it running full speed! Krystal not only helped to grow Dallas Moms into a large parenting resource, but also launched Collin County Moms in 2016; providing those in the north Dallas suburbs their community resource platform. While building a community, uniting the moms, and growing a business around this passion was a dream come true, after almost 10 years, Krystal officially stepped down as owner, and is now focusing on raising her 4 boys with her husband, Tim, and rediscovering old hobbies.
