Easy Halloween Crafts for Kids

Fall is my favorite season: the cooler weather, the food, and the decorations. My kids are young so I need simple and easy Halloween crafts that they will enjoy, and hopefully, that I can use to decorate and get into the spirit of the fall. Here are some of my favorite fun and easy Halloween crafts for kids:

Tie-Dyed Coffee Filter Monster

Supplies:

  • Coffee filter
  • Washable markers
  • Spray bottle with water
  • Scissors
  • Glue

This is a fun and easy craft both kids and adults can enjoy. Have your kids color the coffee filter with the washable markers; the nice thing is that it doesn’t have to be colored in all the way, because the colors will spread and blend in the end. Use the spray bottle and spray enough water on the coffee filter to make the colors blend together. The colors might bleed a little, so spray and leave the coffee filter on a piece of paper or area that is safe to get dirty. Once the coffee filter is dry, you can cut out and glue different shapes from construction paper and make monster faces.

Pool Noodle Halloween Craft

Supplies:

  • Pool noodles (cut into various sizes)
  • Googly eyes
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Foam paper

The summer heat is still here even though it’s October, so take those extra pool noodles and put them to good use. These easy Halloween crafts are fun to make! Use the foam paper and draw and cut different teeth, noses, and mouths for your Halloween creatures. Take the cut pool noodles, glue the googly eyes on, and add the different parts of the face to your Halloween creature. This easy fall craft for kids is sure to get you excited to start decorating for fall and Halloween.

How To Craft With Kids Without Losing Your Mind

Halloween Brew Glitter Slime

Supplies:

  • 1.5 cup of hot water
  • 6-oz. green glitter glue (can be found at Walmart, Amazon, & Michaels, to name a few)
  • 1 tsp. Borax
  • Fun container for completed slime
  • Halloween items: rubbery eyes, spiders, worms, eyeballs

Mix 1 cup of hot water and green glitter glue in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, mix .5 cup of water and Borax. Combine Borax mixture and glue mixture. If there is any watery bits left, make sure to mix well, and it will eventually turn into slime. Let the slime cool and let the kids add the creepy Halloween items. Place slime into fun Halloween container and enjoy!

Frankenstein Handprints

Supplies:

  • Washable green and black paint
  • Googly eyes
  • Card stock or canvas paper
  • Paintbrushes

Take one paintbrush, paint your fingers black; take the other paintbrush and paint the rest of your hand green. Try and paint the entire hand with enough paint to cover the paper/ canvas. Press hands very carefully on paper/canvas. Once each Frankenstein is dry, draw mouth, and screws onto the handprint. Glue the googly eyes onto the paper/canvas and watch your Frankenstein creations come to life.
