10 Fun Ways To Display Christmas Cards

Christmas is right around the corner! It is amazing how quickly the year goes. One of my most favorite parts of Christmas are the Christmas cards. I can’t even being to tell you how much joy it brings me to see the faces of the people we love mixed in with holiday cheer. These beautiful displays of love and family must be honored!

Here are a few of our favorite ways to display Christmas cards:

Make a little Christmas card book with a binder ring.

Just punch a hole in each card with a single hole punch and get a single binder ring! This is actually what we do each year with the cards when we take them down from our display. It allows us to revisit each family as they grow and change over the years.

Decorate with festive (or good old plain) yarn across an archway or doorway.

You cannot beat this easy, simple, and wonderful display. Make it fancy with ribbon or fun clips. Just make sure that if you use a walkway, it’s high enough to not to tempt your kids to jump up and swat at (definitely not speaking from experience here).

Use ribbon to create a vertical display.

This year, we will try a new display that a friend of mine does. So simple and so beautiful! Pick a big thick ribbon and run it down the door of your choosing. Again, you can make it as festive as you want with clips, etc. You can even clip the cards to each other as you get more in the mail.

The easiest DIY holiday wreath.

For another beautifully creative option, use a wreath to display your cards. Hang the wreath on the wall and affix the pictures with clips. Or maybe you have the perfect place on your table, and you can put a candle in the middle of the wreath.

More cute and creative ideas:

  • Use them as ornaments or in addition to ornaments on your tree. What’s better than seeing the faces you love on a symbol of Christmas that brings so much joy and light into our days?
  • Arrange them on the wall them into the shape of a Christmas tree. All you need is a little creativity and some tape!
  • Pick any wall and hang string from which to clip your cards. You can start with one string and add as you need to.
  • Tape them in each pane for a window display.
  • String them along the mantle for extra Christmas cheer; just make sure they aren’t too low for a cozy fireplace night.
  • A basket on the counter is always a good place to put your cards if you aren’t feeling the display vibe. You can still access them and enjoy the love each family sends your way.

Happy Holidays! Let us know how you display your Christmas cards.
