Summer is officially here!

1. The Colony Summer Clubhouse
This is a four-month summer series of performances like magic shows, movies, and animal presentations. While all ages are welcome, it’s probably most fun for elementary school aged kiddos and younger. Love that it is indoors! It is inside The Colony Recreation Center Gymnasium and FREE!
2. The Colony Public Library
Besides books (with generous selection for all ages), there are also computers with learning programs and a play area with a little play kitchen, building blocks, dollhouse, dinosaurs and coloring space. Bonus—it’s free!
3. Andretti Indoor Karting & Games
Do you have older kids? This 110,000-square-foot, two-story facility has superkart racing along a multi-level track, more than 120 arcade games, a multi-level laser tag arena, bowling, virtual reality games and an indoor ropes course.
4. The Colony Aquatic Park
With a heated indoor pool, outdoor leisure lagoon, shade-covered wading pool, and an interactive splash zone, this is a destination for all ages. While entry is $4–$5 per person, a family resident pass is only $90 for the entire season.
5. Topgolf
Great for slightly older kids—a place where golfers of all skill levels can practice their swings in the comfort of a climate-controlled bay and with access to food and drinks (including drinks for mom & dad).
6. Hawaiian Falls
Who doesn’t love a water park during the summer, especially in Texas? For thrill-seekers, there are several inner tube slides with heights as high as 60 feet. At the same time, there is a “beach,” lazy river, and wave pool for lounging and relaxation along with a splash pad area for the littlest kiddos.
7. Grandscape Wheel
Do you look forward to the Ferris wheel every year at the State Fair? Well, you no longer have to wait if you visit Grandscape! Even better? You don’t need to worry about the heat in the climate-controlled gondola. Witness spectacular views from 180 feet, and after the ride, do a little shopping or visit one of the world-class restaurants.
8. Galaxy Theatres
What’s summer without blockbusters? Beat the heat inside this movie theatre with luxury recliners, premium concessions, and Summerfest 2022, where crowd-favorite animated films are brought to the big screen and are only $2 per person. You can also get a Value Pack consisting of popcorn, candy, and a drink for just $3.
9. Electric Gamebox
If your kids are at least five years of age, you could experience an immersive virtual reality game as a family. The “gameboxes” are private, interactive digital rooms where you and your family can compete or collaborate in a game of your choice.
10. Scheels
Yes, I know it’s a store. But it’s a store with attractions! Scheels is a fun (and cool) place for kids, where they can ride on an indoor, 65-foot Ferris wheel, play arcade games, and see fish in the salt-water aquarium.
